Paprika or “Tahmira”

Paprika is one of the basic Moroccan spices just as essential to your cooking as salt and pepper, ground from a variety of dried red peppers in the Capsicum annuum family, including red, bell, cayenne and chili peppers.

The type of pepper used, where it comes from and how it is prepared, determines the taste of paprika. Although there are many different varieties, it is often divided into three categories, sweet paprika, hot paprika and smoked paprika.
